A young couple fulfilled their dream by buying a duplex apartment in Prague. And they continued with the planning and realization of the kitchen. Because the kitchen is the center of everything. The morning rituals before going to work, evening siestas and weekend fiddling about. There is no place where would be more often.

The young couple knew exactly what they wanted and went for it. And by it we mean they went to us. In our Sykora studios, we always approach each solution individually and with an unconditional commitment to beauty, functionality and the client. We consult ideas, enchase the designs and create the final set so that it perfectly fulfils everything that is expected of it.
Stairs to captivation.
In this case, the design character of the apartment was determined by the black metal staircase between the floors. We attempted to transfer this visually unique feature also into the kitchen set. Therefore, in addition to the laminate surfaces in Top Xtreme White matt, there are countless black elements - imaginatively and practically designed to fit in with the overall look and at the same time support the individuality of every centimeter. Even the appliances and the sink with faucet are black, as are the legs of the dining table. In addition to the white aesthetic, we also incorporated a Natural Oak finish on the upper cabinet doors, wall panel, worktops and table top to lighten the industrial character of the dark metal. The kitchen thus feels both solid and poetic.
A space with niches but without limits.
Another challenge was the use of the niches which are located in the space. The atypical placement of the set under the stairs required a special angled solution of the cabinets and extending the cooking zone towards the room. At the end of the left wing of the kitchen there is a Leibherr refrigerator, which, like the other cabinets, features elegant recessed stainless-steel handles. Also, a subtle backlight and an invisible Hiden cooker hood cannot be missing. Eventually a wine cabinet will be added under the staircase. But the young couple can already fully enjoy the kitchen set and the apartment. Beautiful to look at, functional to touch, pleasing to all the senses. The kitchen as life itself should be. Because as they say, what we live in transfers into how we live.
